GONG 101 is about visually informing the local community of Wollongong and its visitors on creative, unique and trendy Spaces (businesses) available in the area. GONG 101 is also an artist collective showcasing young emerging artist between the ages of 16 and 35 and are dedicated to exploring ideas in a community free of limitations and pressure. We help provide exhibition space, studio space and create opportunities otherwise unavailable.
Users of our iPhone application and website can search and view information about a gallery, store, studio, cafe or anything else listed which is creative, unique and trendy. Having the option to view the spaces on our website and the application on your iPhone gives the user the option to view each individual spaces map location, get directions and information such as opening hours, website, address, phone number, email and photos. Making it a simple planned or spontaneous visit to the space.
GONG 101 now called 101 SPACES was founded in January 2010 by Australian artist and designer Dioni Pinilla. GONG 101 first began in Wollongong NSW to help promote the local creative spaces (businesses) and young emerging artist surrounding the Wollongong and Illawarra regions. 101 SPACES can now be found in Wollongong, Newcastle, Canberra and Melbourne with the same focus of promoting the local creative spaces and emerging young artists.
